If you don’t know who Nusret Gökçe is, then you have been living under a rock all this while. Just for introduction, Nusret Gökçe became an international sensation during January 2017 for the way he smoothly cuts and prepares meat and a video of him sprinkling salt onto the meat in a unique way became viral.  

In 2010 Gökçe opened his first restaurant in Istanbul in 2010. And by the year 2017, he already had the Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Miami branches up and running.

This Turkish restaurateur’s steakhouse branch in Dubai is located in Four Seasons Resort on Jumeirah 2 Beach road. Hubsy and I decided to spend a date night here to devour the sensational steak that everyone seemed to be raving about. We knew the place is expensive (starting at 400 AED for a steak) and yet we decided to be spendthrifts on that night just to please our tummy. 


Since it was a Saturday night, we thought the place wouldn’t be all that crowded and “Boy, was I wrong!!”. The steakhouse was swarming with people and we really thought we wouldn’t get a table, but since it’s just the two of us, we were in luck.  


After we were seated, I inquired if Mr. Nusret was at the branch currently and turned out he was in his restaurant in Miami, so we missed out on the opportunity to meet this legend of a guy. As I scrolled through the one page menu, noticed that they serve marinated sliced beef, lamb, burgers, other meat-heavy dishes and a few salads as expected.


This restaurant is not something you would call a ‘fine dine’ as the tables are arranged so close to each other and the loud music and chatter fills the environment, thus giving an indication that it’s a departure from the usual serene dining experience.

After placing an order for the Rib Eye Steak and Nusret Burger, we settled back to enjoy the slightly sour yet refreshing Raspberry Passion Fruit Mocktail and our gossip for the day. While all around us, awe inspiring dishes were being brought to the table… like the Nusret Special Tenderloin that is sliced and griddled right on the table with hot butter. We planned to order that next time…if there is a next time 😉 InshaAllah!



One might wonder what kind of steak is worth 400 AED and let me tell you something…that steak was worth every penny we paid. I am not kidding when I say that we did not regret even one bit about paying so much for a steak because it was that good.  I don’t know how a steak could be so soft and succulent even though it looks dry from the outside, it’s nothing but juicy on the inside and the meat juices just ooze out while you cut through the steak. I can unequivocally say that Nusr-et has got you covered interms of the best steak in Dubai. 


Nusret Burger was exactly what a burger should taste like in a steakhouse. The char grilled steak-patty was as tasty as it could get and the whole thing was a treat to my appetite. 


So all you lovely people, I have just one thing to tell you all, though this restaurant is way expensive, it was really worth the money because we all need to have at least one meal like this that blows your mind away for eternity!!

So try it out, and let me know how it goes…and don’t forget to reserve beforehand if you are going on a weekend.
