The Puj carries two infant bathing products: the Puj Tub and the Puj Flyte (both from 0 to 6 months). ‘Simplifying Parenthood’ is their slogan and they have really met that expectation. This is one of the products that I am so glad we purchased for our baby.
I knew the Flyte would be of more useful for us, as we are a frequent travelling family and the Flyte seemed less bulky to carry around. I first purchased the Puj Tub which is a bit larger than the Flyte with material being made of foam and hence I exchanged it for the Flyte. The site that I purchased it from was dbbabies.com. They have a physical store in many locations too, including The Wave in Muscat. It cost me around OMR 17 and money’s worth I would say.
I started using this straight away and it fit perfectly into our sink. The dimensions of the ideal sink for this product are 19 inches (left to right) by 12 inches (front to back) and between 4 and 7 inches deep. So make sure you have a sink in your house that fits this criteria before getting this product.
My baby girl loves bathing in this and the frame of the tub cradles her nicely, making her comfy. I love the fact that I don’t have to bend down anytime soon to bath her. Mainly during those first weeks after delivery, being able to bathe the baby while standing makes all the difference!
The material is non-absorbent, allowing it to dry quickly and can be hung flat on the bathroom door (just stick it on a hook). Travelling has been so easy with this, its small enough to fit inside your suitcase or just toss it in your diaper bag (if you have a big one like mine).
The only disadvantage I can see is that it doesn’t really work with every single kind of sink. If your sink is too big, it might not secure the bathtub. If the faucet is too low, you might not have enough room to bathe the baby well.
In the first two months when my baby’s head was still wobbly, while bathing in this she ended up being stuck in a position were her neck looks uncomfortable and so I’ll put her back in a better position about an inch or so higher up & if I don’t hold her head she slides right back into that position. Just have to be careful about that.
Since the water was not seeping out of the holes very quickly, I had to make two extra holes at the bottom (you can see that in the above picture) as I dint want her to splash water onto me while bathing.
But the pros outweigh the cons for this product and not only would I recommend the Puj Flyte to other parents, but it will also make great gifts for baby showers too.
